Carefully choose your toilet before it is installed

Before having a toilet installed by a plumber, take the time to choose it carefully. For maximum comfort, choose the bowl size and height that suits you best. The standard height of a toilet is 14 or 15 inches. However, for people who are tall or have back or leg pain, a bowl 16 to 17 inches high is recommended.
A round bowl is smaller, which is more convenient for less spacious bathrooms. An elongated toilet provides more room to sit, so more comfort.
Regarding the power of the flush, one organization has evaluated the maximum performance of many toilet models on the market. A high MaP (maximum Performance Testing Program) rating means that the toilet is better off to remove waste and less likely to clog. A MaP rating can be anywhere between 350 and 1000 grams.
Many toilet models are equipped with technology that allows for energy-efficient performance. The flush can be under pressure or gravity and includes 2 choices of amount of water discharged (one for liquids and another for solids). Some toilets save water without the flushing device being less powerful.
It should be noted that some toilet models have a water tank and a separate bowl, while others are built in one piece. Before choosing your appliance make sur you have a minimum of 12 inches between the wall and the toilet anchors.
